Upcoming Films

Frozen

This will either be a very inventive horror movie or an awful mess and i am under the impression that it will be the latter! It is quite an original idea to have three people stuck on a chairlift despite being a very daft one. I can't really see how this premise could be stretched out into a feature film but I can't help being intrigued by the situation.

Splice

Following in the wake of last years successful low budget sci-fi films, District 9 and Moon - both well worth a look, Splice could potentially be a great film. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro and starring Adrien Brody, Splice takes a look at the world of genetics as two scientists forge human DNA with animal DNA to create a new creature. The trailer has not yet been released but this is a short snippet where you get a glimpse of the unusual creature.

The Slammin' Salmon

I'll admit that the trailer for this film does not leave me with high hopes but i can't help but be excited by The Slammin' Salmon as it was made by the creators of Super Troopers and Beerfest, two sadly overlooked comedies. I'm fed up of the onslaught of Judd Apatow comedies that retread the same ground over and over so this could make for a refreshing change.

Predators

As a huge fan of the original, this is a very exciting prospect. I was wary of this being as awful as Aliens Vs Predator but this preview has eased some of my concerns as well as intriguing me with the addition of a new predator to the mix. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, creator of the El Mariachi trilogy - three of my favourite films, and starring Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne, this has got the potential to reboot the franchise with a bang. Unfortunately, the video has been removed from youtube due to copyright issues but you can check it out here:
